Who
is Dasha?

I’m the ‘Wife’ behind My Wife Cooks Me Dinner. For me, cooking has always been about more than recipes — it’s about the joy of feeding people I love and recreating family rituals with a queer, generous lens.

Growing up, the kitchen was the centre of home life. That didn’t change after I moved to London: I kept cooking for friends who quickly became chosen family. Food became my way of building community, weaving people together around tables big and small.

My cooking style? Abundant, eclectic, and heavily influenced by Middle Eastern flavours. Think mezze platters, chilli oils, giant rosti‑latkes, and a brisket that simmers all day while I “work from home.” Dinners that feel casual yet intentional, generous but never fussy. My pantry is always overflowing, and homemade condiments turn weekday meals into little moments of magic.

I love Friday night dinners, will happily take on a Sunday Roast after no sleep, and find hosting as natural as breathing. Expect warmth, wit, a little chaos, and the occasional dramatic claim about béchamel (it’s excellent, don’t worry).
